University Employee bought Lingerie, Sex Toys

The purchase history of a former Oklahoma State University employee is under review after thousands of dollars worth of personal purchases were discovered on a university credit card.

The questionable purchases ranged from lingerie and sex toys to DVDs and Wii games.

Cynthia Low, formerly a senior financial assistant with OSU’s chemistry department, resigned in February when university officials noticed the purchases.

Low, 44, was in charge of making purchases for the chemistry department starting in 2003, and the majority of the items purchased on the card appear to be for legitimate department use. According to a report by The Oklahoman, there appear to be few misuses of the card before the summer of 2009.

The Daily O’Collegian was unsuccessful in attempts to reach Low for comment. Her listing in OSU’s directory has been removed and the publicly listed telephone number for Low has been disconnected.

No charges have been filed, but according to a university statement the investigation is ongoing.

“Oklahoma State University will not tolerate this type of action,” the university said in a statement. “The university is continuing its investigation and will turn over all its findings to the Payne County District Attorney for his review and determination of further action.

Since Low’s apparent abuse of a university credit card was discovered additional training programs have been enacted to try to prevent future incidents, according to the statement.

Where did all the money go?

Below are some of the items purchased by Low, according to a report by The Oklahoman. University officials are still investigating, final items and amounts may change.

• Dozens of sex toys, pieces of lingerie and other clothing for $2,300
• More than 50 pieces of lingerie for $1,500
• More than 30 panties and slips for $756
• Estee Lauder lip plumper and makeup for $530
• Fragrances and lotions from Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works for $311
• Nintendo Wii games and DVDs for $284
• Sapphire and cubic zirconia jewelry for $148
